A Fine Friday Morning

Time to play catch-up! My wrist is healing… slowly… I’m not able to bend it forward and backward as much as the surgeon would like, but all in all I think it’s going as well as I could have imagined! I am able to type, and draw with my right hand now, and I’ll start strength training a few weeks. It’s surprising how shaky my grip is. I still wear my brace quite a bit, more to remind myself not to lean on my hand, and to protect it from being whacked accidently against door frames and such.

Seed packets have started to arrive and I even got suckered into buying a seed starting “kit” which looks like it will fit perfectly into our small sunny cabinets… I am so looking forward to happy little plants! Even if the scrawny seedlings don’t make it when they are planted outside (sadly, this happens to me a lot) it will be good to have green growing things.

The chickens are handling the winter by screaming at me pretty often. When I open the coop for the day they scream about how I am letting the cold air in, and when I usher them back into the coop at night they scream about how I ruin all their fun. I’ll grab some more photos soon, they are pretty fun to watch heading up and down the various paths in their space.

This morning was lovely, this Friday being the end of a super busy week (work and two health appointments) — and the Porcupine made me the best cup of coffee and a hot breakfast, complete with entertainment of his flipping food in the frying pan :-) Indeed, when I let myself not be afraid, I think I am pretty happy.
