Accept hugs whenever you can.
but it pours...
... a muddy-footed walk with good company.
Finally, flowers are starting to blossom, the pussy willows seem blown out already, and my boots are muddy. Must be spring. This was the last page in my sketchbook, one that I had lost for a few years (the first pages of drawings are from 1997-98!)... Crazy to think I was four or five years out of college then...
I’m feeling a little like these daffodils... trying to push through the mud and snow...
Seriously, this weather, my deadlines... I’d really like to not be an Adult this week.
I thought it was time for these 2 to have a more formal portrait done.
I'm trying to be better about being optimistic. Somebunny has to be. <snicker>
Also, it's rainy, and we are well in the midst of mud season.
It’s not just me. Pretty much everyone I know is either fed up, confused, listless, frantic, depressed, or manic... not sure what the next step is, if there is a next step, and who built these steps so narrow anyway. My sense of self wavers by the minute: confident and straightforward... awkward and tongue-tied.... pulled together or a flat out wreck. This is me trying to keep all that crappy stuff floating high above me. Hanging in there, like so many others, stuck between wanting to make some changes and wishing everything would just stabilize for a bit. All is well, just wanted to let you know you are definitely not alone if you feel like the world, and all it asks of you, is getting heavy.
This was my morning sketch... prompted by a wildlife photographer I follow on Instagram, and a conversation about the mink he photographed needing to towel itself off...
I spent some time last night and this morning getting a pep talk from my Muse, and decompressing from the rally yesterday...
... and just spent a chunk of time getting some cards up on the Notecards! page :-) There will be more updates, including adding favorites from last year, but I really needed to just get that page moving again. I am still considering Etsy, but the processing fees still make me cranky. I'll come around, like I finally did with using PayPal. But until then you can only buy them direct from me, or from Ebenezer Books in Johnson, or at Whistle Emporium in Hardwick. :-)
Now I need to go soak up some sunshine!
How could I resist! Limited cards available.

No prints or cards of this one... there may be another elephant in the works some day but this one lives with my Mom. :-)
I have prints available of the starry skies... they are in a 5x7 mat with a backing board and tucked away in a plastic sleeve. Small and sweet, with the title of the original written on the back. If you'd like one, click through to my "art prints" page! There are notecards, as well, so look for those to be posted soon :-)
This afternoon is all about listening to an audiobook (best thing ever -- borrowing audiobooks through Overdrive with your library card!) and folding and packaging cards... with a little help from a Muse, of course. Look for the Notecard page being updated tomorrow!
Trying to explain human behavior to the Muses. I just ended up getting myself more confused.
