Juvenile Delinquent Heron

Apparently young herons can be pretty clueless about migrating. And this one just rolled it’s eyes and muttered “You’re not the boss of me” when I tried to explain the concept.

  1. GBH’s are year round residents in your area. Check out Cornell Lab of Ornithology allaboutbirds.org. Great site for bird info. I had a heron rookery behind my property till they logged it. They aren’t protected and money is more important than birds. 😦

    1. Interesting… Of course if he stays I am going to be stressed every day — wandering over to check on him! Sorry about the rookery behind you, “progress” is often so destructive. Sigh.
